Following the defeat of Prometheus, Oliver Queen has returned home to Star City with his son, William, in tow. Amid the destruction of Lian Yu, he found survivors, and he found death. Oliver is determined to continue moving forward, to start his new life with his son, and pick up the pieces as Mayor of Star City, and as the Green Arrow. He lost his personal hell, and he lost people close to him. But so did another man, years ago. Ricardo Diaz Jr. lost his father, lost his freedom for a crime he did not commit, and now uses that as motivation to push himself forward. He has honed himself into a deadly fighting machine, and is ready to use the justification of the past to exact vengeance and terror in the present. As Oliver struggles to deal with those he has lost, with his new relationships in life, and with the question of if he can keep doing this, especially now with William in his life, he knows but one thing. Keep living, because those who were lost put their faith in him, and he owes it to them to fight another day.

After Barry stepped into his Speed Force prison, life outside moved on. His friends and loved ones have continued to protect Central City in his absence, protecting the populace from the threat of rogue Metahumans. Barry left everyone behind for his own atonement, and as his chance to return comes to fruition, he has to see how others have adapted to life in his absence, and if he still has a place with his team, his friends, and his family. In the absence of the Flash, one figure has been trying to extort and solve the absence. It may be the greatest mystery that is worth asking. An identity doesn't matter, but the absence in a time of need? The Thinker wants to know what could be more important, or what could be powerful enough to detain the seemingly unstoppable Flash.

The Legends have broken time, and while they know how it should be, some of these changes might be for the better. Or at least, for the better of some. Some who know the proper timeline, some who would fight to keep time a mess for their own selfish gains. The Legends have kept sight of their mission, not losing heart in the face of a failure, because at least the Legion of Doom has been stopped. Right? A new Legion rises, powered by dark magic, and knowledge of history proper. They seek to use this damage to undermine the Legends, to keep history in a way that would suit them. The terrorist magician Damien Dahrk, the scorned heiress of power Kuasa, the hyper-intelligent Gorilla Grodd, and others who serve them. Each of these figures has lost something, and a new timeline may set all right for them, but at great cost to many others.

A new enemy has risen; enemies with power much like Mari's. Aku Kwesi, a man with animalistic speed and claws. Whisper A'Daire, a woman trained by the League of Assassins, and her follower, Kyle Abbot. While Aku possesses general traits, Whisper possesses snake-like abilities, and Kyle possesses wolf-like abilities. John Constantine continues his quest to save his soul from damnation. While the Brujeria are still an ever present threat to the world, he has help from his companions at least. With hope and some luck, he'll be able to stop them soon. But as his suspicions of Manny continue to grow, and the angel attempts to convince him to focus his attention on the rogue magic users who are trying to use the broken timeline to their advantage, John has to look at what matters now. Should he focus on what is before him, or perhaps try to play the role of hero, and save many more lives? Does the Rising Darkness matter more than his own soul, which maybe, just maybe, might be saved if he can help the Legends and save countless lives?
